Nursing clinicals are a critical part of your nursing education. As a Tulane University accelerated BSN student, your nursing clinicals at various healthcare facilities throughout New Orleans and the surrounding area will start during your first semester.
Although we organize clinical placements with our clinical partners for you, we cannot guarantee exactly where your nursing clinicals will take place. You will be responsible for ensuring you can commute to each clinical placement location.
Our curriculum is designed to prepare you for the rigors of clinical rotations, with online coursework and simulation experiences working in tandem to establish a solid clinical foundation. You will complete 720 clinical hours throughout the accelerated BSN program while participating in the other curriculum components.
The duration of each clinical rotation depends on the healthcare site’s needs, ranging between 6 and 12 hours. Our clinical placements have a 1:5–10 instructor-to-student ratio, ensuring that you can receive personalized attention throughout your clinical rotation experience.
