- We emphasize hard and soft skills, so you’ll not only gain proficiency in core nursing competencies, such as administering IVs, assessing vital signs, and caring for wounds, but acquire critical soft skills, such as emotional intelligence, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and time management.
- We prepare you to handle any challenge confidently so you’ll be ready to provide care in resource-constrained environments, such as rural clinics, underserved communities, and emergency settings.

Born in New Orleans. Committed To Serving Louisiana and Beyond.
Located and deeply rooted in New Orleans, our accelerated BSN program offers our students a unique opportunity to address public health challenges in one of its least healthy states. Through your coursework and clinical opportunities at local partner sites and community collaborations focused on improving the quality of life for all Louisianians, you’ll develop comprehensive nursing skills that prepare you to make an impact not only in New Orleans and Louisiana but anywhere you choose to practice.
Work in an In-Demand Field
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts employment of nurses will grow six percent through 2033, faster than the average for all occupations. Over the next decade, around 194,500 openings for registered nurses are projected annually across the country.
In 2023, there were almost 10,000 registered nurses employed in the New Orleans metro area and around 37,000 RNs working in Louisiana, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data.
